About Chris

An Educated CavemanOne page to define who I am, what I’ve done, my scent, my power and my lack of importance.

I am employed at Ecordia Technologies as their Chief Technology Officer.  I am proud to say that I am a co-founder (as it took two people to find it because it was extremely lost) and we were born in April of 2007.  Originally, Sean Jackson had me come in from time to time to do work on his content management system.  When he saw that I was not someone to take lightly, he asked me if I was interested in revolutionizing the way search engine optimization is done across the Internet.  I said “okay” and turned back around to continue working wishing I wouldn’t be interrupted.

Little did I know how serious he was and how far we’d go.  Our ideas have changed over the years, our road to success has been filled with many swerves off of the asphalt, yet our determination has never wavered.

I have had the privilege of meeting and even working with incredible friends who’s imagination, drive and vision did nothing but feed my own.  Believe me, the tank can get dry and all I need is a company meeting to remember why we’re doing what we’re doing.  Of course, saying goodnight to my 4 children jogs the memory as well.

I live in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, yet I do not wear or even own a cowboy hat.  What can I say, I’m a puzzle.  I have lived in (chronological order) Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Texas, Arizona and Texas again.  I have to say that Texas is my favorite place to be.  The heat is horrible but everything else makes up for that.

I have been in the IT industry officially since 1996.  I started at Electronic Data Systems where they abused me horribly (no water, food, or pay) and learned the art of the customer side of technology.  From there I joined Glazer’s Family of Distributors, Optek Inc., Vertis Technologies, Tyler Technologies, did independent consulting, and finally Ecordia.  I’m still a bit out of breath.

the4thAlong the way I have had the honor of being a dad to four of the most wonderful children you can imagine (yes, they are better than yours).  I lost my wonderful, beautiful wife, Sheryl, to breast cancer in October 2005 but I still see her every day in the smiles of my three girls and one boy.

Enjoy the text I vomit in this blog, heck, even (gulp) leave a comment every now and then.

I’m not the smartest guy, but I know the smartest people.  Half of the battle has been won.

Thompson out.
